Final Project : Organic Modeling (Character)

   ⇢ Choosing a Character

You are required to produce an organic 3D model of a character from a model sheet.

For this project, I decided to do a character from Adventure Time, Prince Gumball, but his character sheet was inconsistent and was very frustrating to work with so I pivoted to BMO!

   ⇢ Modeling the Body

I started off with making the body of BMO, which, in essence, a beveled rectangular box with bits coming out of him.

BMO Side speakers + Branding

For the text itself I used Berlin Sans FB Bold as it was the closest font I could get to the original tag of BMO

Extrusion and placement of BMO Branding

Although in the reference pictures certain aspects of the character sheet looked a little off from screenshots from the show itself so I took some creative liberties with the placement of "BMO" and the limbs. I also turned the text green in the Viewport for more visibility on my part since I couldn't figure out if the letters were accidentally overlapping too much into the body for it to be seen when it was rendered.

BMO Hands

I legit for the life of me could not figure out how to segment it into 3 parts itself but a flat nub works as well since it still kept the whole silhouette in tact. (also totally not the fact that this guy rarely wiggles his fingers within the show itself)

   ⇢ Rendering the Body

I used this picture as the colour scheme for my model of BMO!

BMO Rendered

For the setting itself, I used a colour opposite of light turquoise green for more contrast which was a rich brown and added the 3 point lighting for the final render.
