Reflection

Prior to learning about this module, the only typography I was exposed to was short snippets of Japanese Music on Youtube or Twitter, or game levels where typography was used in the background. I also had only seen traditional typography through pen pal letters and museums.

This module, although stressful, was pretty enjoyable since I had a fascination from the start about the topic at hand. That definitely helped me to do my assignments more smoothly. On top of that, this module was pretty organised in comparison to my other modules where it was very unpredictable with assignments, exercises, etc. This definitely helped plan out my schedule more through out this semester.
Ms Hsin was also a great help and made a space to give immediate feedback towards our module assignments which helped me take the initiative to ask questions regarding the module itself.

I had just wished that the lectures weren't available online only and that the classrooms weren't turning my mind into a puddle of goo (physically and figuratively) but that was just the situation that was dealt with.

Typography truly opened my eyes to the history of how text like the ones you have seen throughout this E-Blog, came to be from clay tablets to digital. The process so intricately detailed that if there was one mistake everything would crumble over and it has changed how I look at everyday items or billboards. (no seriously I had an epiphany every time I came across a building with text on it). Who knew there was so much nuance and complexity that made up Typography, from visual presentations, to font height to the attractiveness of a design.
