Auditory Imaging

For this project, We had been given the task to make an audio that would capture these choices:
  1. Wildlife + Background
  2. Everyday Home Life + Background
  3. Cities + Transport + Exterior Atmosphere
  4.  Industry and Electronic sounds + Background
  5. Weather + Background
  6. Market + Rural atmosphere + Background
I chose number 5 as my auditory imaging. My plot of the audio was about a business man clocking out of job late after overtime and wanted to walk to the bus stop. I did ask Mr Razif if the audio needed an ending, but he said no so I decided the story would stop there. Since the audio was also supposed to be 2-3 minutes long, I also thought to add a few bits of chatter here and there.

I broke my story into 3 parts:
  • The Office (around 1 minute/45 seconds)
  • The walk to the bus stop (1 minute-ish)
  • The Bus stop (around 30 seconds)
So that I could plan the audio out better and that suited for each role (totally not because adobe crashing on me all the time but hey we work with we got).

Sound Sheet (The Office)

This is the spreadsheet of the sounds I needed for the Office. Honestly, it was a little hard to get the specific sounds I wanted for the audio. Who knew there would be multiple types of sounds for an elevator door opening but I ultimately had to go on youtube and find this gem of a find (Elevator sounds)

*I tried doing this all in one audio file but Adobe Audition kept crashing and I would lose my progress, so I made the first half in a separate file. I first did the audio until the card reader and then continued onto another file for the rest for a more smoother transition.

Now, I know that I did say previously that my story is made up of 3 pieces, but I thought that it would be much better to lump them all together anyway.
